Jon Nicholls - producer | sound designer

Jon is an audio producer, sound designer and composer with extensive experience of delivering content to network radio and independent production companies.

 Recent productions include Unicorns, Almost (2020, BBC Radio 3, ’Drama on 3’) and the composed features Ballad Of the Blade, Ballad Of The Fix (2018 & 2019, BBC Radio 4) and Water Towers Of New York (2017, BBC Radio 3, ‘Between The Ears’). 

 As composer and sound designer he's collaborated with many leading audio drama producers including Sally Avens, Tim Dee, Emma Harding, Judith Kampfner, Melanie Harries, Nadia Molinari, Jeremy Mortimer, Mary Ward-Lowery, Eloise Whitmore & Sasha Yevtushenko, and companies including Almost Tangible, Ladbroke Audio, Naked Productions & Sparklab.

He’s worked across every BBC audio drama format including Afternoon Drama, 15-Minute Serial, Drama on 3 and Classic Serial, as well as multi-episode large-scale adaptations for BBC Radio 4 Extra.

 His radio work has been nominated for awards including the Prix Italia, BBC Audio Drama Awards and the New York Festivals Radio Awards.

His sound designs and music are also in demand with leading theatre companies including the National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Scottish Opera, Bristol Old Vic and in the West End.

His work for VR and interactive media includes the BBC’s multi-award-winning The Turning Forest.

Sarah Smyth - business manager

Sarah is a freelance arts producer and business manager with extensive experience of business and project management, marketing and creative direction working with organizations including the BBC, Arts Council England, the Arts & Humanities Research Council, the Wellcome Trust, The Times, the Man Booker Prize and leading publishers.

She was Artistic Director of the Cheltenham Literature Festival for 15 years and also launched the Cheltenham Science Festival. She is a former ITV regional board member, member of the British Arts Festivals Association steering group and a trustee of the David Vaisey Prize; she is also Talks Curator at the Gloucester History Festival.
